Piscina Barcelona Previews New Outdoor Area at Construmat 2025

From May 20 to 22, 2025, Piscina Barcelona will participate in Construmat—the leading construction trade fair in Spain—with a space entirely dedicated to outdoor design. This strategic participation, at the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona, will serve as a preview of the new Outdoor & Wellness Experience area, which the event will officially unveil at its next edition from November 17 to 20.

Both organized by Fira de Barcelona, Piscina Barcelona and Construmat share a common vision: to promote innovative solutions that transform outdoor spaces into functional, sustainable, and aesthetically appealing environments, aligned with the growing demand for wellness and a connection to nature.

In this context, Piscina Barcelona will create a 500 m² area at Construmat 2025, which will feature both a showroom and an exhibition area. The showroom will showcase design and landscaping proposals with high functional and visual value. In collaboration with Forestal Catalana and Fundación Vinne, brands such as Ambiazza, Conva, Domo by Indalsu, Laghetto, Weber, and Wondergrass will display everything from outdoor loungers and sofas to terrace mini-pools, bioclimatic systems, and ornamental plants, offering a comprehensive look at trends in outdoor comfort and decoration.

Meanwhile, the exhibition area will feature leading companies in the pool and wellness sector, such as Action Park, Aquavia Spa, CGT Alkor, Condal, Design Pool, Fluidra, and Poolstar, which will showcase cutting-edge products in equipment, technology, and sustainable solutions for the construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance of aquatic facilities.

With this participation, Piscina Barcelona not only strengthens the link between construction, landscaping, and exterior design but also positions outdoor spaces as a key element in contemporary design for homes, hotels, campsites, and urban environments. The event at Construmat will undoubtedly be a privileged opportunity to preview what will come in November and enhance the connection between architects, builders, and designers with the latest trends in pools, wellness, and outdoor equipment.

Call for Entries for the Outdoor Design Awards

In the same spirit and reaffirming its commitment to outdoor spaces, Piscina Barcelona 2025 has launched the international call for the first edition of the Outdoor Design Awards, aimed at landscape architects, architects, and designers with valid official qualifications. Participation can be individual or in interdisciplinary teams, as long as at least one team member meets the required professional profile.

The aim of the competition is to encourage creativity and innovation in the design of outdoor spaces such as urban gardens, terraces, hotels, or campsites, promoting sustainable, functional, and aesthetically attractive solutions. The single category awards projects completed between 2020 and 2025 that transform their environment with a positive impact, evaluated by a jury that will consider four key criteria: sustainability, design and aesthetics, innovation, and functionality. Registration will be open until September 20, 2025, and must be formalized through the event website, including personal and academic information, and a maximum of two anonymous boards with plans, diagrams, and project descriptions. The Spanish Association of Landscape Architects, the College of Architects of Catalonia (COAC), and Rosa Gres are collaborating in organizing these awards.

The Outdoor Design Awards are part of the Piscina Barcelona program, which also includes other awards, such as the International Competition for Architecture and Landscaping Students; the Piscina Barcelona Awards for the best residential and public-use pools and the most innovative product in connectivity and sustainability; and the Wellness Experience Awards for the best spas and wellness establishments, wellness clinics, spas, and wellness destinations. The awards ceremony for all these prizes will take place on the afternoon of November 17, within the scope of the event.

About Piscina Barcelona

Outdoor and wellness spaces will be central at the upcoming edition of Piscina Barcelona, highlighting one of the rising trends in the sector. In this sense, the event aims to create a single central activity area that will be larger than in previous years, called Outdoor & Wellness Experience. This area will be located in Pavilion 1 of the fairgrounds. Designed by landscape architect Rosa Maria Torra Reventós, it will integrate both the wellness center that the fair has been building for the past five editions and the showroom dedicated to outdoor spaces, which was inaugurated in 2023 with the goal of showcasing the synergies between these areas.

Held biennially, Piscina Barcelona is the most international European trade fair in the pool, wellness, and outdoor sectors. Organized in collaboration with the sectorial association ASOFAP, the event is preparing for its next edition, which will take place from November 17 to 20, 2025, at the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona. The event is expected to cover more than 40,000 m², with 400 exhibitors from 30 countries, including global leading brands, and 14,000 professional visitors, 60% of whom will be international.

Construmat, a Benchmark for Construction

Construmat is Spain’s leading construction trade fair and a benchmark in southern Europe and the Mediterranean. This year, the event, which will feature over 350 exhibitors from 22 countries, will showcase the latest materials, tools, techniques, and services to advance towards more sustainable and efficient construction. The Barcelona fair expects to surpass 22,000 visitors.
